Batang-Star Philippines, Inc. (“BATANG STAR”) is a non-profit, non-government, Christian faith-based, humanitarian and development based organization to helping the children-in-poverty, in difficult circumstances and vulnerable situations.

The release of the street kids, needy IP-children, disaster victim-kids and neediest children from poverty circumstances for them to become responsible adults and champions of hope in the community.

(“Batang” is a Filipino word refers to “Child / Children”. Pangarap means “Dreams”. Star defines as when a needy-child if given the chance of being helped that Child can become “Champion of Hope”)

C-ommitment to the Needy – We are committed to the needy / poorest of the poor children and their affected families and communities. We aim to achieve the great hope and development of our society in general. Batang Star believes that the needy or poor of the communities are not hindrance to development neither to progress. When the needy is given the appropriate assistance and opportunity to develop their own lives, they would be contributory factor to peace and development.
Thus, Batang Star’s programs, projects and activities (PPA) is complementary to and support to the local government units and national government agencies. Batang Star Philippines as a non-stock and non-profit organization partners with government agencies and offices to achieve the government’s goal of reducing street crimes and eradicating poverty incidence in the sector of street kids, needy IP-tribal children, needy youth, poor families and disaster-victim kids.
In-tegrity – We are committed to integrity. It directs all the Batang Star’s board, officers, staff and volunteers to align our goals, thoughts, objectives, motivations, attitudes and actions with the ethical principle on human rights, peace and development work, international humanitarian laws and sphere standards.
S-tewardship – We are committed stewardship. We assure our funding donors, supporters, sponsors and partners that we implement Batang Star programs, projects, activities and services to the needy and beneficiaries we serve while maximizing and critically taking care of the resources entrusted to this foundation/organization. We serve and facilitate the needs of our street children, poor children and internally displaced persons (IDPs); Thus, we commit to be good stewards as well to our beneficiaries, sponsors, donors and supporting government agencies.
Batang Star believes in the power of convergence. Despite the limited resouces of the organization, partnership and collaborations creates concerted efforts of change and positive development in our needy sector.
Furthermore, Batang Star is grateful to all our donors, sponsors, partners, stakeholders from government sector, our humanitarian volunteers and all other generous givers for the benefits of our beneficiary-children.
E-xcellence – We are committed to accomplish the tasks in an efficient manner and attain the outcomes in an effective approach. We vouch to making great things, consistently doing everything that we are mandated by Batang Star’s vision and mission: small or big, we ensure it is always with outstanding quality and results have the long term impact in the lives of the needy. Re-sponsibility – We are committed to be responsible in the area of accountability and good stewardship practices that encompasses the duties of a volunteering, non-partisan, non-profit, non-government, Christian faith-based, humanitarian and development organization to act in a professional, ethical and right-based manner, obey the law, do no harm, protect the partners and member-individual being attack by discrimination, strictly follow the standards of the supporting donors and sponsors, laws of the Philippines, follow the international standards vis-a-vis put the interests and welfare of beneficiaries ahead.
